• HONEST WASHINGTON SPARKLING WINE •
Tirriddis is a Washington State traditional method sparkling wine winery located in Prosser, Washington. Founded in 2021 by Andrew Gerow, Gabriel Crowell, and Matthew Doutney, three graduates of Washington State University’s Viticulture & Enology program. We are happily working hard to pioneer & curate Washington’s sparkling identity.
Our name, Tirriddis, comes from Tirage, Riddle, and Disgorge – the three steps to naturally produce sparkling wines. Focused solely on this traditional method, we proudly implement ground-breaking and unique “non-traditional” styles to emphasize Washington’s world class growing environment. In addition to wine quality, sustainability within the community and our environment is very important to us as we strive to help represent and push forward the future of Washington wine.
The Tirriddis Team
Andrew Gerow, Co-Founder/Jack of All Trades
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Andrew moved out to Tri-cities, Washington to combine his love for art & science via WSU’s Viticulture & Enology program. Throughout his education, he worked in all facets of the wine industry, from vineyards to wineries and tasting rooms. After studying & working in the industry for a few years, he decided to jump into the world of Washington sparkling wine with partners Gabriel & Matthew. In his free time, he likes to swim, fish, camp, travel, and cook.
Q: What do you like about sparkling wine?
A: Sparkling wine is more than just a beverage, it’s synonymous with celebration and coming together. In the glass, the sparkle just adds this extra dimension that’s unmatched by still wines. Also, on the production side, you have to make each wine twice, once as a base wine, then again as a sparkling wine. It’s technical, its precise, but there’s so much finesse and artistry required.
Q: What do you enjoy most about tirriddis?
A: I get to make wine and sell it with my best friends. We make the rules and define what we do, its all on us. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me!
Q: What is your favorite Tirriddis pairing?
A: 21 Stonemark Vineyard Blanc de Blanc & fresh oysters

Gabriel Crowell, Co-Founder/Collaborator
Gabriels passion for wine began at 15 when he stumbled into a wine shop looking for work in Cyprus. After working in wine retail for a few years, he got his WSET Level 3 certification, and then decided to pivot and pursue a career in wine production – catalyzing a move to Tri-cities, WA to attend WSU’s Viticulture & Enology program. After working in the industry & building a passion for sparkling wine, he partnered with Matthew & Andrew to show the world Washington sparkling wine. When he’s not focused on the project, he loves cycling, grilling, and spending time with his family.
Q: What do you like about sparkling wine?
A: I like that sparkling wine presents different challenges than still wines. Not just during the winemaking process, but in the vineyard, winery, and even how you serve sparkling wine, everything makes a difference and I love the challenge.
Q: What do you enjoy most about tirriddis?
A: I love that the sparkling wine I’m working on will be what people enjoy in 2 or 3 years, not now. Sparkling wine explores patience and its exhilarating.
Q: What is your favorite Tirriddis pairing?
A: NV House Brut with a tray of homemade nachos

Matthew Doutney, Co-Founder/Quality Control
Originally from Long Island, New York, Matthew moved to Tri-cities, Washington in 2017 to attend Washington State Universities Viticulture & Enology program and never looked back. Throughout his education, he worked production & service at a winery in Long Island, NY. Prior to graduation in 2021, he convinced Gabriel & Andrew to come together & show the world the true potential of Washington Bubbles. In the glimpse of free time, Matthew loves to travel and experience great food & wine.
Q: What do you like about sparkling wine?
A: I’m not totally sure, it isn’t something quantifiable – I just always get very excited at the mention of sparkling wine. Perhaps it has something to do with how expressive (and often unforgiving) it is. Maybe its simply the massive cultural and historical aspect. Whatever it is, I love sparkling wine.
Q: What do you enjoy most about tirriddis?
A: The Single Vineyard wines are very exciting to me. Being able to highlight specific vineyards and the growers is important. I feel that aptly translating each unique location into an authentic expression of its terroir is what wine is all about!
Q: What is your favorite Tirriddis pairing?
A: The Blanc de Blanc pairs with a bad day. Few things can cure a case of gloomy times like a glass of bubbles!
